Rob has been a solicitor since 1976 and has been engaged in many leading cases in the Court of Appeal and the Land and Environment Court.
Rob is an Accredited Specialist in Local Government and Planning Law.

Until recently he was a member of the Specialist Accreditation Committee (Local Government and Planning Law) of the Law Society of New South Wales. He recently retired from this position, having served in this position for 10 years.

Rob is a past President of the Hunter Valley Law Society, a past board member of the Faculty of Law of Newcastle Law School and a member of the Law Society's Presidents Panel of Arbitrators.

Rob is also a Supreme Court Cost Assessor appointed by the Chief Justice of New South Wales in 1995.

He has acted for Cessnock City Council since 1977 and also acts for Great Lakes Council, Tamworth Regional Council, Glenn Innes Severn Council and Gunnedah Shire Council. Rob also acts for a number of private clients in development and local government matters.

Therese is an Associate of Mallik Rees and leads the Commerical Property and Probate team. She is highly experienced in Probate, Conveyancing, Property and Commercial law and has acted for both our Council clients and private clients in relation to property disposals, property purchases, leases and sale of land for unpaid rates

Therese is the only Solicitor who is also a licenced Real Estate Agent and is able to provide her clients with advice in relation to Agency Agreements before they sign them to ensure that these Agreements are in the clients best interests.

Marlie has both an Arts and a Laws degree from the University of Newcastle.

Marlie commenced working with Mallik Rees Lawyers in 2006 and during that time has gained extensive experience in Local Government, Planning and Environmental Law. Marlie has acted successfully in Class 1 appeals, Class 4 proceedings and Class 5 prosecutions on behalf of Cessnock City Council, Great Lakes Council and Tamworth Regional Council.

Marlie has provided extensive advice to our Council and developer clients in a range of areas, including Planning Agreements.

Marlie also has extensive experience in Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardianships and Probate and can provide you with advice in relation to the drafting and execution of all these documents.

Marlie also provides advice in relation to Retirement Villages Contracts and ensure that the clients are aware of all their rights as a resident of a Retirement Village.

Marlie conducts many seminars in the local community in association with the Law Society of NSW covering topics including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardianships and Retirement Villages.

Marlie's committment to her clients was recently recognised when she was nominated in the 2011 Cessnock Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Awards.
